Financial Assistance

To Complete the DAHA Financial Assistance Application, Click the Link Below

The Duluth Amateur Hockey Association has a limited amount of funds available in the Hank Jensen Fund for financial aid. As a condition of this financial aid, families receiving assistance are expected to contribute in other ways to youth hockey programs at the rink/association level. This would include helping out with concessions, rink maintenance, flooding, fund-raising efforts, etc.

Information on the application form will be kept confidential.

OTHER OPTIONS FOR AID

The Montgomery Sports Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to removing financial barriers for young athletes. We are proud to partner with Duluth Hockey to help ensure every child has the opportunity to participate, regardless of financial circumstances. Through this partnership, families may receive assistance with registration fees and support for essential equipment needs. More information and applications for assistance can be found by clicking on the adjacent link.

DAHA Financial Assistance Application (The Hank Jensen Fund)

If you need to request DAHA Financial Assistance for the upcoming season, please read the following steps on how to submit the application. Separate online applications will need to be filled out for each child applying for financial assistance, but only one set of supporting documents are sent per family.

1. Please review the yearly household income requirements. They are the same requirements used by the State of Minnesota and Minnesota Public Schools to qualify for free or reduced lunch.

2. Complete the form, link is at the top right of the page. You need to accurately know your yearly household income.

3. E-mail, mail, or return in person to the DAHA Office supporting documents such as W-2 tax information, your latest tax return, documentation that proves your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch, or other documentation that proves your need for financial assistance. These supporting documents will need to be sent to the DAHA office along with a note explaining that the documents are for financial aid.  These documents need to be received before the September 1, 2026 application deadline for reimbursement of registration funds in mid to late November.

You will be notified of your status after your application has been reviewed. If you qualify for DAHA Financial Assistance you will be refunded your registration fee in late November.

We are still working through the details on other fundraising opportunities for our families, the car raffle tickets will hopefully be an option again this upcoming season to recoup your DAHA registration fees. Once we get confirmation on this we will send out more information on how it works.

Deadline

Please send in your financial aid application and supporting documents before October 1, 2025.

Items will be kept confidential.

Player Registration

2026-27 Season: If you get your financial aid application in before 9/1, and qualify, you will get a discount code for registration. If you do not get your application in by the 9/1 deadline you will need to register and if you do end up qualifying you will be reimbursed your awarded amount through crossbar. You will still need a credit card or a prepaid cash card to complete the registration and payments can be broken into a payment plan to ease the burden. If this format will not work for your family, please contact Clare, DuluthAmateurHockey@gmail.com or clare@duluthhockey.com, to work out a plan. DAHA will never turn away a player due to financial difficulties.

Other Association's Financial Assistance

If you apply and qualify for financial aid with the Duluth Amateur Hockey Association, then (with your consent) your application will be passed to your specific sub association (i.e. Woodland or Denfeld) where you may receive additional  financial assistance.
