Icebreaker Invitational
Welcome to the 31th annual Duluth Icebreaker Invitational!
The Icebreaker Tournament Committee would like to share some important updates regarding the upcoming Duluth Icebreaker Invitational Tournament.
Tournament Dates:
January 8–10, 2027 — please mark your calendars!
Tournament Update:
This year, the tournament is facing several logistical challenges; increased scheduling demands from high school and college teams, reduced ice availability, and a shortage of referees. As a result, we may be forced to scale down the tournament size from what we have offered in the past. We remain optimistic that this is temporary and look forward to growing back to previous participation levels in the coming years. With that in mind we have temporarily instituted an updated registration process.
Invitation & Registration Process:
This year, we will be using a two-step process:
- Open Registration (Returning and New Teams):
- Registration of interest will open on June 1, 2026.
- Invitations:
- First round of invitations will be sent on or around June 8th, 2026. Second round of invitations will go out on or around June 26th, 2026.
Tournament Registration Fee:
10U A/B1/B2: $1,850
12 A/B: $1,850
15 A/B: $1850
Wait-List:
Teams who are wait-listed will receive an email notifying as such by mid to late June. We will continue to be in contact with those teams as situations update throughout the summer/fall to discuss participation.
Updated Cancellation Policy:
- Cancel before December 1, 2026 and paying team to replace in spot: Full refund
- Cancel on or after December 1, 2026 and paying team to replace in spot: 75% refund
- Cancel on or after December 1, 2026 and no paying team to replace in spot: no refund

We would like to thank our sponsors for their incredible support of this years tournament. Their generosity helps provide a memorable experience for every player, and it truly shows our athletes how much their community believes in them. Partners like these help keep keep opportunities accessible, grow the girls game, and create a positive environment where these young athletes can compete, build confidence, and have fun. Their commitment to our program makes a difference, and we are deeply grateful for everything they do to stand behind our girls on and off the ice.
